Just got back from a great Memorial Day Weekend and the weather and the fishing wear definetly  both above par over at the Potholes.  The Bass action remains good, use rapalas/spinnerbaits in the mornings and evenings.  Then pull out the soft plastics and cast away for action through out the heat of the day.  Next weekend there are tournaments both days at Potholes reservoir, you bass fishermen might want to stear clear.  Walleye again were all wrapped up…, “fish taco” style.  Trolling worked best for us with worm harnesses.   Both smiley blades and colorado blades were working.  No real big fish, but if you put your time in you will come across some better fish.

What everybody is probably waiting for, are the first GOOD reports of summer chrome.  Well the fish are heading our way as I type.  I heard of a few steelhead from the cowlitz this weekend, but over all the number of fish being caught was low.  Barrier Dam sounded like the best bet.  I will be on the Cowlitz for at least 3 days the first week in June, and then depending on the fish and mother nature  I will stay, or head to the Skykomish River.  Make note of the many rivers that don’t open until the first Saturday in June…, nobody wants a fishing ticket!   If your looking to catch some summer chrome (steelhead/king salmon) call me before the peak days are all booked up.  Until next time…, Keep it wet,

Hello everyone…, well I got back in town today from Eastern, WA and 80 plus degree weather and to say the least the fishing has heated up as well.  The bass are in both spawn and pre spawn mode, there are even a few empty beds out there.  I have been having great success with soft plastics, as well as spinner baits.  All the fish we have been catching have been between 2-6lbs, real nice quality bass.

I also went walleye fishing and it was on fire for two days and then it kind of shut down (damn walleye).  I was not alone fishing for those toothy critters, there were at least 40-50 boats Thursday-Sunday at any of the big 3 boat launches on the Potholes Reservoir.  A worm harness and a bottom walker did the trick.  I will be fishing east of the mountains until the first of June, then it is off to the rivers.  Get out there and wet a line, give a buzz if you would like to catch some fish, like I said last report it is on right now!!!!!

See you on the water!

My first blog on our new website,… and for that matter my first blog ever.  Well lets jump right in.  I have completely switched gears from a long, hard winter steelhead season.  I have been fishing the Potholes Reservoir/Mose Lake/ and the Seep Lakes for the last month and I must say it has been quite productive!  We have been catching easy limits of trout, along with catch and release limits of bass, both Largemouth and Smallmouth.  The Walleye fishing is even on the good side.  If anyone is looking to fish, let me know.  It is on right now!  I have already booked my first trips in for Summer Steelhead and King Salmon starting the first week in June.  Look for my first River report then.   Can’t wait for June 1st, see you all on the water!!

ps I still have June 1st open, if anyone wants to hit the OPENER and get first wack…, give me a call.
